The Follow Through

Office Chest Organizer!

I recently read a book that started off with a bang, then quickly lost its momentum. Midway through the first chapter I was telling everyone I knew, “This is incredible….you have to read this book!” Midway through the second chapter it became, “Well, you don’t have to.” By the third chapter??? “Do I have to finish this thing?”

It’s New Year’s Eve and I have punch to make, a cake to bake and a movie to see – so my brain’s too strained to go too far into the deep end with this one, but I will say that more times than not, I’ve been as guilty as this cursed book. (Hopefully not as boring!) But in regards to New Year’s Resolutions, I’ve most definitely started off smoking in January (Chapter 1), cooled off by February (Chapter 2), then fizzled right out by March (Chapter 3). Then by the time December came around (Chapter 13), my resolve nowhere resembled the one I started off with.

This year I’m holding myself more accountable. No more writing the resolutions down then losing the paper…Hopefully I’ll outsmart myself this year by keeping the goals written down in plain sight. Then, I can do a “check up” of sorts weekly, see how things are coming, or not coming. This way, if I’m motoring along in the wrong direction, I can put the pedal to the metal, cut the fish tail and take off in another direction. No speeding tickets given on the road to self improvement!

The
3 Drawer Office Chest by Iris – (on Clearance for just $39.99!)

could be just the sort of thing to help those of us seeking more organization in our lives.

From the manufacturer:

Features two small drawers for storing and organizing your office supplies, and a large bottom drawer that holds hanging files. Includes a sturdy laminated wood top that holds up to 150 pounds and wheels for added mobility.

Essentially, it’s a file cabinet/extra drawer space/lamp table dream come true. Works for me.

I will give the author of the ill-fated book this, that first chapter was great. In fact, the title alone – A New Practice for a New Reality – gave me new-found determination and resolve. There’s a great deal of wisdom in that title. I’ll leave you alone with it to see what it does for you.

Have a mind-boggling fun New Year’s Eve. If there’s music, dance. If there’s food, eat. If there’s fun to be had, take it all!
