Recently, I was sent a cool Speedy Spine Binder to review for the office supply blog.  It’s a real looker and has a penchant for speed, which I like.  I must confess, I have a bit of an obsession with binders and notebooks. I even color co-ordinate my binders for organizing my home web publishing business:

As you know, I recently added a new category to the office supply blog…. PENS!  I’ve always been obsessed with and fascinated by pens.  I remember in school when we were finally able to use pens instead of pencils, I thought I had arrived.  I had that lofty, “Why am I not running the world?!” feeling  and, frankly, it never left.  Pens are all kinds of awesome and I was a bonehead not to give them their own category by now.

But, it’s all good now and I’ve made it right.

The Zebra’s Sarasa Gel Retractable Pen 0.7mm Assorted 10 Pack (shown in colorful glory above) needs to find its way into my home office. As you may be able to tell with some of the unusual office lamps and offbeat office supplies I write about, I love the eclectic and embrace the colorful. So if you think my pen holder is a boring run-of-the-mill sight, you don’t know me very well.  In fact, that would be my pen holder at the end of the post.  It’s a fun container than my oldest daughter, Emily, gave me and it always includes three “animals” she once made me.  The picture says three of the identifying things about me:

I think everything and anything Egyptian is about to absolutely explode onto the scene. The exquisitely beautiful Angelina Jolie has been cast to portray Cleopatra in an upcoming movie, which will only add to the Egyptian craze.  I noticed that when our National Geographic came in the mail yesterday, Cleopatra had earned the cover.

I’ve been pulled, kicking and screaming, into the coupon and money saving arena.  My youngest daughter, Stephany, has become Uber obsessed with coupons and saving money.  She’s hooked on a reality show on television geared toward coupons (I think it’s called something like Extreme Couponing – is that great or what?).

She has become a little Coupon Diva with a coupon for virtually everything you can think of.  At first I didn’t take her seriously and I guess it showed on my face.  That’s when she hit me where it hurt:  “Any money you save is more money you can spend at Starbucks.” There’s something to be said about knowing your opponent’s weakness.

Yesterday, I armed myself with a stack of coupons before going to Kroger and, get this, I saved $10.85.  That’s a couple of Chai Tea Lattes or Green Tea Fraps… or Passion Tea…. or Mocha Fraps… or…

Okay, I’m hooked.
