When I sat out to find an art print or poster to post as a tribute to fathers on Father’s Day, I fell in love with this one. I thought, this just epitomizes all fathers who take the time to spend precious hours with their children. Time away from work, the tv, the computer, books, etc – just them and those who matter most.

I have to admit, there are a couple of areas of a room that I generally don’t pay much attention to: The curtains and the floor. Maybe it’s because I’m Diva of All Things Sparkly, but I’m instantly drawn to the ornamental elements of a room:

One of my uncles collects model ships. It was a hobby he began when he was a teenager – even before he joined the Navy. The Navy became his life’s mission and he kept reenlisting until they accepted the fact that they’d have him and his model ships around for three or four forevers.
When I was a tiny little office freak, I loved to watch him assemble these model ships. Partly because it was fascinating and partly because his mother (my grandmother) frequently brought us fudge. If chocolate is on the scene, count on me being nearby.
