I honestly can’t make up my mind. I can’t decide if I like wood office desk tops or glass office desk tops better.
Right about the time I think I prefer wood office desk tops, I’ll get a pen mark on one and have to consult every kitchen remedy book in the county to remove it. Then, when I think that glass desk tops are my choice, I remind myself that the wood ones don’t require “smudge busting” with Windex.
Pros and cons for each type of desk, I suppose. Which is why I honestly don’t prefer one over the other. Our home has each. I will say this, however, glass desk tops don’t get those annoying little mystery stains (yellow? really?) or nicks. One of my daughter’s desks looks like the Travelocity Gnome ice skated across the surface…. and not well. At one point, it looks like he just disappeared. Gnome rapture?

this is a beautiful piece. Elegant, yet simple, stylish, yet easy to fit in.
Glass desks don’t take stains, but, on the other side, it might take you longer to keep them clean. Fingerprints and son on. But leaving that aside and, also, the sense of “cold stuff” every time you touch glass, your desk top looks appealing.

I totally agree wid lloyd, Cleaning the glass desk would be a tough task. though it looks very pretty .
I agree, the shift to glass and metal desks bothers me. Maybe it’s because I went to a boarding school in the Northeast, and everything was made of wood, but I just don’t like ceramic or glass topped desks.
I also like both glass and wood in a desk. However, I don’t like glass and metal together. Something like this would be more up my alley:

I do think having a glass desk top gives you a great incentive to keep it really clean. The smudges are really unsightly but fixable – unlike dents in a wood desktop caused by a roaming gnome.

Glass computer desks are a fashionable and exciting advancement in desk design. It’s pleasurable to have a sleek and stylish workspace, but the desk along won’t make you more productive!
