Do It Yourself Style – GBC ClassicCut Cl 100 Paper Trimmer

by office on November 1, 2005

GBC ClassicCut Cl 100 I’m a huge fan of the do it yourself way of thinking. It’s not about the money, I often spend more doing it myself than I would if I bought a pre-packaged item. It’s about the flexibility you get when you create things that work the way you do. You can create the kinds of tools that make you more effecient and save you loads of time. Plus, it’s more fun creating things than actually using things. We’ll do just about any amount of work to avoid actual work, won’t we?

I recently started printing a lot of documents I’ve created. Things for my own organizer, index cards for my Hipster PDA, inserts for binders, spreadsheets for tracking ads and even pictures for a photo album. Scissors just don’t *ahem* cut it. So this weekend I went out and picked up the GBC ClassicCut Cl 100 paper trimmer. It’s on the cheap side of paper trimmers, but at the moment I just need something that trims paper in a straight line. Already I can see how the more elegant (aka, more expensive) models would come in handy. But ClassicCut does a great job for my modest needs. It’s light and easy to put away when I’m not using it and easy to retrieve when needed. It slices, dices and makes clean cuts every time. My productivity should shoot up 10 fold, accept now I can cut stuff, instead of folding! Couple this handy trimmer with some nice heavy stock paper and you can make index cards or just about anything else you like. You can get it pretty cheap on Amazon.com (aff link).

[…]I am thinking of getting a new paper cutter for 12×12 papers. I don’t run into my CM rep anymore and the blades just don’t last long enough for me. Unlike the smaller CM personal paper cutter. That is just wonderful. I have had it for years and it still works great. So hurray that you found one to work nicely for you! I’ll add it to my list of possibilities!![…]

I have the MM trimmer and love it!!!! Very good trimmer and supposedly the blades never need replacing since it resharpens itself. I did have one issue with the plastic guide breaking, (my cat did it) but MM was very nice to replace it free of
charge. (the bar not the cat)[…]

Glad to hear the cat wasn’t replaced! – Joi
