With Japan, and its beautiful and resilient people, on everyone’s mind, I thought it would be appropriate to show a couple of stunning art murals I found. The one above is a “Neon” view of one of the most amazing cities in the world: Tokyo.

The insanity going on in Libya is atrocious for many reasons, but one of the worst things about it is the fact that it’s kind of pushing the needs of Japan off of the front page. Hopefully people won’t forget just how badly Japan needs our help at this time. Be sure to keep them in your hearts and prayers. Godspeed, Japan, Godspeed.

I have to admit, there are a couple of areas of a room that I generally don’t pay much attention to: The curtains and the floor. Maybe it’s because I’m Diva of All Things Sparkly, but I’m instantly drawn to the ornamental elements of a room:

  • beautiful lamps
  • art prints and posters
  • knick knacks
  • wooden desks
  • photographs
  • shiny things..

For the most part, curtains and floors (whether they’re hardwood, carpeted, or feature throw rugs) just don’t seem to hit an artistic stride for me.

You know those occasional products, recipes, gadgets, or Starbucks drinks that you wish you’d thought of? Things so perfect that you’d love to take credit for them?

I met perfection yet again this week and would ever so love to take credit for its invention. I’m not trying to break any of the 10 Commandments, so I’ll confess, I didn’t design or invent this ingenious desk lamp.

I love quirky, unexpected decorations – whether they’re in the home office, yard, bathroom, kitchen… Anything that makes me smile when I look at it and makes someone do a double-take has to come home with me.
