I’ve got Johnny Cash on the brain today. I’ve been listening to his music all day while working (except for a Kelly Clarkson & Jason Aldean sidetrack). Mostly I’ve been Folsom Prison and a couple of Rings of Fire.
When time came to post today’s office art print or poster, it was a no-brainer. Johnny Cash memorabilia is hotter than ever and his music can’t be beat, or imitated.
I’m a mad genius like that.
Anyhoo, I came across the great print above and thought of my fellow office freaks. This is just the sort of thing to catch our eye, isn’t it? Too cool.
Check him out. The little Office Freak is headed to the office, coffee in tow. Personally, I’d have put the coffee inside with me and the briefcase on top. I, obviously, am an office supply freak extraordinaire. No denying it, no hiding it. Like my other addictions and infatuations (coffee, chocolate, the History Channel, catfish, cats..), it might as well be written across my forehead. I never realized, however, that I was raising another generation of freak-y. Until two days ago.
My youngest daughter, Stephany, decided that we HAD TO HAVE Japanese food for supper. Since we aren’t even remotely Japanese, we realized we’d have to go to one of our favorite Japanese restaurants. I told her that we had a few other stops to make first. Since she enjoys shopping nearly as much as her mother does, she was okay with that.
When we pulled into the Staples parking lot, she said, “I didn’t know we were coming to Staples!” As we were getting out of the car, she added, “I’d have dressed up for Staples.”
It was such a proud moment, I can’t even tell you. I knew we’d raised that girl right, but, I had no idea we’d also raised her to be an office supply freak as well. Hopefully she didn’t see the tear as I swiped it aside.

I can also see him raising one eyebrow and saying, “Have you lost your damn mind?” Whatever. Wouldn’t matter. My chair would still be sexier than his. Or anyone else’s for that matter.
Granted, this beauty isn’t interested in sitting at a desk, she’s a bit too hippy for that. She’s more for sitting across the room in a home office or in the corner of a traditional office. Can you say impressive – think of all the backsides you’d impress.
