I, obviously, am an office supply freak extraordinaire. No denying it, no hiding it. Like my other addictions and infatuations (coffee, chocolate, the History Channel, catfish, cats..), it might as well be written across my forehead. I never realized, however, that I was raising another generation of freak-y. Until two days ago.
My youngest daughter, Stephany, decided that we HAD TO HAVE Japanese food for supper. Since we aren’t even remotely Japanese, we realized we’d have to go to one of our favorite Japanese restaurants. I told her that we had a few other stops to make first. Since she enjoys shopping nearly as much as her mother does, she was okay with that.
When we pulled into the Staples parking lot, she said, “I didn’t know we were coming to Staples!” As we were getting out of the car, she added, “I’d have dressed up for Staples.”
It was such a proud moment, I can’t even tell you. I knew we’d raised that girl right, but, I had no idea we’d also raised her to be an office supply freak as well. Hopefully she didn’t see the tear as I swiped it aside.
