Staplers, to office freaks, are like peace signs to hippies. They bring a certain type of meaning to our universe and identity to our soul. We see a stapler on our desk and we know we’re grown-ups now. Yeah. That’s right. I have my own stapler. I have arrived.

Is there anything worse than tiny print? I was reading a great book recently, which happened to have the tiniest words in the history of books. I turned on the floor lamp near my desk which helped considerably but when I came across the sleek lamp ninja above, the Libra Adjustable Desk Lamp

I honestly can’t make up my mind. I can’t decide if I like wood office desk tops or glass office desk tops better.
Right about the time I think I prefer wood office desk tops, I’ll get a pen mark on one and have to consult every kitchen remedy book in the county to remove it. Then, when I think that glass desk tops are my choice, I remind myself that the wood ones don’t require “smudge busting” with Windex.
Pros and cons for each type of desk, I suppose. Which is why I honestly don’t prefer one over the other. Our home has each. I will say this, however, glass desk tops don’t get those annoying little mystery stains (yellow? really?) or nicks. One of my daughter’s desks looks like the Travelocity Gnome ice skated across the surface…. and not well. At one point, it looks like he just disappeared. Gnome rapture?

We have a standing family tradition in our family on Sundays – my husband can have first crack at every inch of the Sunday paper except for the circulars. I love the message board that hangs near my desk in my home office. I can place reminders on the board to keep me from forgetting important events – you know, like the next time UK plays basketball…. opening day for baseball…. what the next Ace of Cakes will be about – important stuff.
