A Potential Shopping Spree for LOST Fans

by Joi on August 1, 2008

Lost Hydra Mug
If you’re as into LOST as I am, your eyes are already popping. The Lost Hydra Mug is from Shop ABC TV and is riding pretty high on my “Things I gotta, gotta, gotta have” list.

Right now, when you spend at least $40 on their site, you get a great looking free Dharma Journal. It actually matches the mug above perfectly. Except, of course it doesn’t serve you coffee. But, it’s free - what’d you expect?

The store also has posters, dvds, soundtracks, glasses, tees, jewelry that’s nothing short of amazing, cards, action figures, etc, etc, etc - with each etc topping the last.

Click through one of the links or the image below to check it all out for yourself. After all, we LOST fans have to find someway to amuse ourselves until the show finally…..make that FINALLY comes back.

Finally! A Sexy iPod Docking Station

by Joi on December 27, 2007

The HoMedics iSoundSpa(tm) Clock Radio with iPod Docking Station is as handsome as it is functional.

I’m really not a fan of a lot of the docking stations - they’re kind of homely. But the one above is from Macy’s and is a modernistic hottie.

From the web site:

Wake up to the tunes you choose or just rock out loud any time you want. Customizable with interchangeable faceplates to match your iPod®, this stylish clock/radio and docking station plays music with amazing sound clarity as it charges your iPod and displays the time on its large digit LCD display. One-year limited warranty. Model SS-6500.

Features:

  • AM/FM radio with digital tuning and volume control
  • Line-in allows you to attach non-docking iPods, CD players and other MP3 players
  • Universal inserts fits all docking iPods
  • Dual alarm with snooze feature
  • 15, 30, 45 or 60 minute nap feature and auto-off timer

The HoMedics iSoundSpa(tm) Clock Radio with iPod Docking Station - could take the bite out of any (okay just about any) work day.

Funny how much smoother life goes down when taken with music. That, Starbucks, and the occasional big, thick, ridiculously unforgiving and calorie laden Steak burger from Steak and Shake. With fries. Countdown to lunch has officially begun.

The Most Portable DVD Player

by Joi on December 17, 2007

The Most Portable DVD Player.

The Most Portable DVD Player - that’s what this particular portable dvd player bills itself as. Since it’s actually only one inch thick, I don’t plan to second-guess the claim.

From Shop.com:

This portable, handheld device allows you to watch DVDs and listen to CDs and easily fits into a carry-on bag because it is only 1″ thick. The unit has a 3 1/2″ TFT LCD screen that can redraw images faster than typical LCD monitors, resulting in a sharp, clear, and detailed resolution. Integrated anti-skip circuitry maintains uninterrupted viewing during turbulent flights or bumpy car rides, and it provides multiple viewing angles because it can be adjusted using its integrated stand. Compatible with all CDs and DVDs, this unit has two stereo speaker, and includes a headphone jack for private listening. With a remote control, a lithium-ion rechargeable battery pack that lasts up to three hours on a full charge, AC adapter, DC car adapter, and a carrying case. Connects to a television via included AV cable. 6 1/4″ Diam. x 1″ D. (4 lbs.)

Sounds perfect for students, and I can see just about anyone taking it along for a long day at the office - what better way to make time fly than to have a little fun with it?!?! Beats working.

Speaking of movies…which I guess we kind of were….have you seen the trailer for The Dark Knight? I saw it when we went to see Will Smith’s monster hit, I Am Legend (it has broken all other records for a December opening). The Dark Knight trailer has leaked onto YouTube - and it looks fierce. This thing’s going to be a monster and, unless I miss my guess, it should catapult Heath Ledger into Johnny Depp’s ozone - or at least get him close enough to smell him. I can’t wait for The Depp’s next movie (Sweeney Todd) either. A singing demon butcher barber? I’m all about singing demon butcher barbers.

Grab The Most Portable DVD Player, and you’ll be able to carry Johnny, Will, and Heath with you wherever you go.

by Joi on September 14, 2007

Creative Labs Zen V 1GB MP3 Player (White/Orange) Retail ***Free Shipping***

The Creative Labs Zen V 1GB MP3 Player (White/Orange) Retail ***Free Shipping*** is as hot as it looks. This is the sort of MP3 Player people sit up and notice. It does the whole “stand out from the crowd” thing like no other MP3 Player I’ve had the pleasure of looking at - well, ever.

I did, in fact, list this under the “Office Productivity” category. Everyone has certain things that make them more productive…things that kind of keep them motoring along. Caffeine and music fuel me - even when I have the cold from hell like I’ve had the past week. Chug a little coffee…listen to Kanye West…chug more coffee…Sing along with Fergie…..Make a Starbucks run with Gets me through the day.

I think a lot of my infatuation with this particular MP3 Player has to do with the ridiculously hot colors. Sexxxxy.

From the Website (ZipZoomFly.com - also sexy):

How will you deal with all the attention?

Melitta Take 2 Coffee Brewer

by Joi on August 7, 2007

I totally can’t relate to the concept of having only a few cups of coffee in the morning. And by not relate to, I mean the mere thought makes me break out in an uncomfortable rash.

However, I understand that not everyone is as addicted as I am - thanks be to the all-knowing God (what a world this would be if all of its people were as caffienated as me). In fact, I hear tell that some people actually get by on one or two cups each day - as in, not just the morning. It’s all they have all day.

For those rare birds, something like the Melitta 2-cup travel brewer would be perfect. My mom was this sort of coffee drinker. She’d have one cup in the morning and that was it. She claimed that if she had more than that she’d be awake for days. Amateur!

I always thought she kind of embarassed herself by even having a coffee maker - but she was family and I loved her, so I forgave her for her shortcomings. My dad…now there was a coffee drinker! The man could drink two pots of coffee during the day, then lay down and sleep like a beagle. With people like dad and me…the Melitta wouldn’t even stand a chance. But for the normal people in the world, it might be pretty nice.

From the website:
For the on-the-go coffee drinker, the Melitta Take 2 brews directly into one or both of its 14-oz. stainless steel travel mugs that conveniently fit standard car cup holders. Uses a #2 cone filter, the brewer features dual spouts, which detach for easy cleaning. Added features include an LED power indicator, easy-to-read window water gauge, and auto shut off.

At just a little over $30, the Melitta Take 2 would be perfect for keeping in the office. It’d also make a pretty amazing Christmas gift….. but I didn’t just ring the Christmas bell or anything. Not in August. Not me. And I’m not humming Frosty the Snowman either…..

Caribou Coffee and Gifts for Proud Coffee Addicts

by Joi on July 30, 2007

Are you one of the lucky cats within reach of a Caribou Coffee? If so, don’t tell me - I don’t even want to know. I’ve just spent the better part of the morning on their website doing the whole, “Want that, want that, want that..” song and dance. At last count, I think I was around 89 - what can I say, I’m good at what I do. The lovelies below are just some of the things in my virtual cart: There’s a Coffee bag (A heavy duty bag, made from recycled burlap bags that carried green coffee beans.), a White Canister Set (A Caribou set for two), a Slate Coasters Set, a hot Pink Mug with the Caribou coffee logo, a Car Coaster, Kitchen Towels….and that’s just scratching the surface.

Needless to say, they also have tons of coffee, sweets, and other food items. Trust me, you’ll want to click the button below and have a look around - this stuff is gorgeous, and amazingly low-priced.

CompUSA’s Feeling Patriotic

by Joi on July 4, 2007

You gotta love the 4th of July if you’re an American. Not only is it a time to celebrate our country’s history, it’s the perfect time to celebrate all that’s right with the U.S.A. - and there’s A LOT right with it. Its also a time to stop and think about all of the men and women who serve us (and have served us in the past) in the armed forces. Everyone loves heroes and heroines in the movies - these are the real thing!

Independence Day is absolutely one of my favorite times of the year. I love the grilled food, the fireworks, and the waving flags that I wish would never go down. I also have a strong respect for the sales that present themselves during the first week of July. I’ve noticed some pretty great ones lately - especially online.

CompUSA
is feeling the Love American Style, and in a big way. Through the 7th, CompUSA has….

  • Notebooks priced ridicuously low - with some starting at $399.00.
  • Desktops starting at $299.00.
  • 50 percent off printers.
  • 19 inch LCD Monitors starting at $129.99.
  • ipods and MP3 Players are all on sale.
  • 20 percent off of all office supplies.
  • Save up to 45 percent on accessories.
  • Save up to 85 percent on Networking.

The icing on the cake? Free shipping ALL DAY on JULY 4! So if there’s anything your Office Freak-y heart desires, today’s the day to act and CompUSA is the place to do so.

Make Your Own Planner With Moleskine

by Chrispian on July 12, 2006

Moleskine PlannerAs you may remember, I have an addiction to making my own planners. There is just something satisfying about using paper to organize ideas, thoughts and action items. I’ve yet to find a digital solution that I like better than paper. And nothing does paper like a Moleskine. It’s the crown jewel of notebooks.

Mike Rohde has come up with Creating a Custom Moleskine Planner that is both simple and elegant. Like Mike, I love Gel pens because they write so well, but for my portable needs I’m sticking with the my Fisher Space Pen. Mike’s guide should get you up and running with a nice planner that is about the size of an index card that you can take with you everywhere. It’s simple and it works. What else do you need?
