One of my uncles collects model ships. It was a hobby he began when he was a teenager – even before he joined the Navy. The Navy became his life’s mission and he kept reenlisting until they accepted the fact that they’d have him and his model ships around for three or four forevers.
When I was a tiny little office freak, I loved to watch him assemble these model ships. Partly because it was fascinating and partly because his mother (my grandmother) frequently brought us fudge. If chocolate is on the scene, count on me being nearby.

Love this saying and I’m all kinds of crazy about the art print. This print is available in different styles (posters, prints…) and a whole slew of colors. I chose red because it, like totally goes with the colors of the blog. Sue me. Girl, first. Professional, second. More like ninety-second.

I honestly can’t make up my mind. I can’t decide if I like wood office desk tops or glass office desk tops better.
Right about the time I think I prefer wood office desk tops, I’ll get a pen mark on one and have to consult every kitchen remedy book in the county to remove it. Then, when I think that glass desk tops are my choice, I remind myself that the wood ones don’t require “smudge busting” with Windex.
Pros and cons for each type of desk, I suppose. Which is why I honestly don’t prefer one over the other. Our home has each. I will say this, however, glass desk tops don’t get those annoying little mystery stains (yellow? really?) or nicks. One of my daughter’s desks looks like the Travelocity Gnome ice skated across the surface…. and not well. At one point, it looks like he just disappeared. Gnome rapture?

I love the message board that hangs near my desk in my home office.
