Starbucks Coffee Zebra Knitter Critter Plush

The adorableness you see before you is the Starbucks Coffee Zebra Knitter Critter Plush from Starbucks’ online store. These beautiful little Kenana Knitter Critters are hand-knitted by rural women in Kenya using all-natural hand spun wool that is dyed with natural plant dyes.

Everyone loves to have special things on and around their desk that mean something to them.  Things that express something about their views of the world and the things that bring them joy and happiness.

Check out what these desk buddies have to say for themselves:

Money earned by these Kenana Knitters goes directly to the women who are able to improve the quality of life for themselves and their families.

How could anyone NOT want to get in on that?

Too cute! Those remind me of the sock monkey puppet we had when I was a kid. It looked like this: http://bythelbs.files.wordpress.com/2008/04/sock-monkey.jpg. Ours was named Aesop (after the fables) and we would use it to tell stories.

Your readers may want to visit the KenanaUSA website too. It has a whole bunch of different animals. The octopus is particularly cute! The pricing is plenty reasonable for U.S. consumers and still pays more than the going rate for fair trade work in the country of origin, so these are a good deal all-round.
