Golf Pad and Pen Set

by Joi on November 26, 2006

The Golf Pad and Pen Desk Set, above, might be just the thing to get some of you golfers through the off season. Keep your spirits up and remind you that the ground will eventually thaw out. Heck, it might even motivate you to stay in shape.

This Set includes paper holder with 100 memo sheets and an antique brass plated golf ball and pen set. It’s under $20 at GolfBalls.com. The website has an amazing number of crazy cool things - the sort of things that could, would, and should make perfect Christmas gifts.

I’m not a golfer - not off of the miniature circuit anyway - but I did see something kind of cool. They have a Hot Biscuits Ball Warmer (Pro Shop > Accessories > Misc Items > Ball Warmer) for you brave men and women who play in the cooler weather. It says that it’s “a new and exciting performance accessory that can extend your drive distances by over 10% and even up to 16% on cold days below 40F.” But, according to a comment left as a review, you can’t use the ball heater if you’re playing for money. If you’re kicking around with your friends, sure…but if you’re playing for gold, your balls had better be cold.

Office Acronyms

by Joi on November 14, 2006

Before I actually read the article linked below, I skimmed over the acronyms mentioned to see if I could guess any of them.

I got one right - WIIFM. At least it wasn’t a shut out.

Thanks be to God I work from home - otherwise I’d probably cause more trouble than I’d be worth. Seems I’m NVQ for Office life. Isn’t it nuts, we’re all starting to talk like we’re online. I wonder how long it’ll be before people start yelling LOL! rather than laughing. OMG, can you imagine?

Anyway, Take the leap and see if you’re already familiar with BHNC or CTD —- the two of those are, of course, A2O.

EOM. TTFN.

Decidedly Un-Fugly Staplers

by Joi on November 8, 2006

Finally! I’ve always wondered why manufacturers seem hellbent on making staplers as plain Thelma Lou’s cousin. Sure, they’re “Niiiiiccce. Real niiiiiice,” but that doesn’t make them look any better sitting on your desk than Mary Grace would. As a matter of fact, very often they’re downright fugly.

Now someone’s gone and gotten all jazzy and has given this office necessity a makeover. The sleek little PaperPro(tm) Compact Stapler from Linens ‘ n Things comes in three hot colors: Green, Red, or Blue - and each is under $10.oo. Love that.

From the Website:

The PaperPro™ Compact is the easiest of all the PaperPro™ staplers with just 6lbs of actuation force for a 2-15 sheet capacity. Its lightweight design makes it a convenience for all stapling jobs, whether you are in the office, at the counter, on the go, or in your house. The PaperPro™ Compact contains core PaperPro™ features, such as vertical or horizontial operation, easy paper entry, drop-in loading, and a staple remaining window.

By the way, did you know that the adorable actress who played Mary Grace on T.A.G.S. was named Mary Grace in real life. She also played “Ralph” on Green Acres and was the second nosy neighbor Harriet Cravtiz on Bewitched. One of the best character actresses of her time.

There, you learned something today - your mind can take the rest of the day off.
