Make Your Own Planner With Moleskine

by Chrispian on July 12, 2006

Moleskine PlannerAs you may remember, I have an addiction to making my own planners. There is just something satisfying about using paper to organize ideas, thoughts and action items. I’ve yet to find a digital solution that I like better than paper. And nothing does paper like a Moleskine. It’s the crown jewel of notebooks.

Mike Rohde has come up with Creating a Custom Moleskine Planner that is both simple and elegant. Like Mike, I love Gel pens because they write so well, but for my portable needs I’m sticking with the my Fisher Space Pen. Mike’s guide should get you up and running with a nice planner that is about the size of an index card that you can take with you everywhere. It’s simple and it works. What else do you need?

Chrispian, thanks for the mention! I have yet to buy a space pen but think they are quite nice. For now my G2 mini with Uniball Signo 0.38 cartridge seems to work quite well. :-)

Mike, Thanks for stopping by. I’ll have to check out the pen. I do prefer gel pens and might have to give your mini hack a try. The thing about the Fisher is that I *know* it won’t leak on me and converts to a full size pen when in used.

I’ve also been using the Cahiers notebooks from Moleskine lately and love them. I use them for more disposable type notes. Add some 3×5 cards and a small notebook binder clip and you’re set.

Purse-sized organization. Sweet.

I love gel pens, too - it’s an honor to write with them. Love their attitude.
